1. Drama in the morning, right after breakfast - Humaidi went out by himself, again. I sent him to the helper's room (3 doors away from our room, and connected to my brother's room since his helper shared the room with Mak's helper Mira, who helped out with taking care of my kids while we were in Redang since I didn't bring my helper along), then used the bathroom and when I came out - no Humaidi in sight. Thought he might have gone to his uncle's room next door via the connecting door, but no, he did not. Asked both helpers and they both were puzzled, "baru sekejap tadi ada...".
2. Quickly went in search of him - near the pool area, which was right in front of our rooms. There was no response to me calling his name out loud, and I could not even hear his normal babble. So I quickly moved on to the beach area. There he was, in front of the still closed "Mo Mo Cha Inn" aka Gift Shop, playing by himself. When he saw me approaching, he ran to the sea area, prompting me to run faster to catch him. Yes, my son can scare me silly sometimes...
3. Breakfast was light. Well-meaning advice were thrown from all corners of the restaurants -
no nasi dagang, no nasi lemak, no milky stuff, keep it light but packed, etc etc etc. Yeah, those who suffered bad case of motion sickness dreaded taking yet another ferry ride...
4. It was so bad that my brother's helper half-jokingly asked if she could be let go from her current employment as she want to stay on the island and look for another job - just so she could be spared from taking a bumpy ferry ride again.
5. It goes without saying that the black small plastic bags offered (by the proprietor) on the ferry were snatched by passengers and was 'sold out' quicker than hot pisang goreng.
6. The (lot larger, spacious and more stable) ferry ride to Shahbandar jetty in Kuala Terengganu took about two hours. Most of the passengers had taken precaution to take Novomin or Chi Kit Teck Aun pills, so most were spared from nausea or vomit despite the still rocky waves.
7. Were given 1 1/2 hour to shop around Bazaar Warisan/Pasar Payang. The kids were divided into 3 teams - baby Haniyya with Mira, Humaidi with his Ayah and Huzaifah with me. Due to taking care of the kids - we did not burn a hole in our pocket shopping. Huzaifah got a Ben 10 toy, (yet another) Thomas the Tank Engine train set courtesy of Embah while Humaidi got a toy tram which he called bus. Hubby bought some keropok lekor as ole-ole for family in Seremban, and I bought some keropok.
8. The rojak seller near the Shahbandar jetty must had had a field day because his rojak was selling faster than hotcakes. There were return purchases too - so when I finally bought one, the ingredients (only sengkuang, mango, water apple and guava, no more young papaya, young pineapple and what nots) were far lacking compared to those who made earlier purchases . Oh well...
9. We were supposed to visit Masjid Kristal and Taman Tamadun Islam after Pasar Payang. But due to some miscommunication - only one bus, the one with all the organizing committee members, headed that way while the other two buses started to head for Shah Alam right away. So, instead of Masjid Kristal, we stopped at one Masjid Dendang in Dungun. Herely, herely - prizes were mockingly offered for those who can find the crystal in that particular masjid, hehehe
10. By then, I ran out of hot water to make formula for Baby Haniyya and it had started to drizzle which quickly turned into quite a heavy pour. I braved the rain as I ran to the opposite side of the road, asking one kakak in a kedai runcit if I could get some hot water. She said no, but suggested me asking another shopowner further down the road.
11. Succeeded in getting some hot water from the second store and bought some snacks there as well. Good thing I did too, because the next stop was in Kuantan R&R and that was about 3 hours away from that particular location. Needless to say, the snacks went off within minutes of me boarding the bus, wolfed down by almost-starving members of the trip.
12. Arrived in Shah Alam at about 12 midnight. Paid RM24 for 3 nights parking fare at Plaza Masalam. Stopped by at Kampung Tunku for a while and then proceeded to Seremban. Arrived in Seremban at almost 2.00 a.m., exhausted but satisfied, alhamdulillah.
